Thomas Ferrone: Founder and President
With over 20 years' experience in business development, IT engineering, and IT management, from the ground up, Thomas Ferrone has earned the reputation of being a multitasker who parlays his competencies in business, leadership, technology, marketing, and sales into providing clarity and developing action programs geared toward executive management and agents of change in companies and organizations.
Prior to establishing Ion Technology Solutions, Tom owned an IT consulting company, managed a business continuity and disaster recovery service, and worked in business development and IT management for large enterprise clients and many vertical industries from financials to manufacturing.
Significant projects he's worked on have included consolidation of major financial data centers, design and installation of a national e-commerce website, and design of a national IP-based broadband network for multiple cities.
Recent focus and specialties are in Data-Driven Information Intelligence, Augmented Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Hybrid Cloud, DevOps and applying to business use cases, the data center space including co-location, managed services, cloud solutions/transformation, backup/disaster recovery, and data center consolidation.
Kenneth J. DiStefano, Jr: Director
Kenneth J. DiStefano, Jr. has over 20 years of experience in financials services, banking and CPG (consumer packaged goods) industries, with specific expertise in enterprise IT and shared Services. Ken has served as the financial lead on many large-scale programs, such as cloud Migrations, data center relocation, information risk management, cyber security, digitization/e-Commerce, all in addition to IT, HR, finance, and procurement transformations.
Ken brings a deep background of traditional financial discipline and market based bench-marking to drive out fact-based insights and enable rich conversations about investment alternatives and risks. Ken also draws from robust experience in business case vetting and performance tracking in an effort to position teams to successfully track financial performance of approved investments over time.
Ken has an MBA in Finance from Rutgers University, and an undergraduate degree from Old Dominion University.
Kenneth's diverse expertise has seen him successfully advise, lead, and enhance the performance of notable companies and organizations including Ernst & Young as a Finance Transformation Advisor, Mars Incorporated as their Chief Financial Officer, the Deputy Chief Financial Officer of the Girl Scouts of the USA, and much more.
